The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is actively seeking a new director to oversee digital asset activities within the stock exchange. The team will deploy a blockchain-based digital asset exchange to efficiently trade digitized stocks and bonds. 2️⃣ Kraken is considering building its own Layer 2. Kraken, one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States, is considering partnering with several leading blockchain technology companies to help them deploy their own Layer 2 networks. This step will put Kraken in the ranks of competition with Coinbase, a major competitor, as Coinbase launched its own Layer 2 network earlier this year. According to sources, Kraken is currently looking at companies like Polygon, Matter Labs, and the Nil Foundation among others to use their technology as the foundation for the new network. 3️⃣ Developer Avalanche laid off 12% of its workforce. Ava Labs, the Avalanche blockchain development team, confirmed a recent 12% staff cut, citing the need to optimize resources. According to LinkedIn, Ava Labs has 335 employees, suggesting about 40 have been affected by the layoffs. Ava Labs' vice president of development and strategy, Garrison Yang, suggested that many of those laid off came from the company's marketing team. 4️⃣ Binance launches Binance Messenger messaging app. Recently, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, made a big splash when it announced that it has released the Binance Messenger app on the Apple Store.
